Plumbago House hosts Bahamian indie film screening.
May 2nd, 2026 — Plumbago House partners with Konu Studios and The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas to host a special screening night of independent short films by Bahamian filmmakers, Tanicia Pratt and Nate ‘NXTETG’ McPhee. Celebrating four years of Pratt’s poetry collection, each film reflected a deeper meaning life in The Bahamas. Both filmmakers sat down to discuss their distinct visual styles, the poetics of blue, and the significance of capturing authentic Bahamian stories through filmmaking.
Plumbago House is a multidisciplinary production company interested in collaborative storytelling that preserves, highlights and challenges Bahamian culture through literature, film and performance.

In a country where seas mirror skies, and the shore is never too far away, blue is the central hue modelling The Bahamas and its many complexities. Each poem dives deeper and deeper as the poet unearths themes surrounding family, the body, trauma, and nationhood.
